Child Health Plus A (formerly Medicaid) is free health insurance coverage for children up to the age of 18 years and who are either US citizens or legal permanent residents for at least five years. Eligibility is based on the child?s status, not the parent?s. Even if the parent is not eligible for coverage due to excess income, resources or immigration status, the child may still be eligible. Medicaid offers health care provided by participating managed care plans (HMO's) in your area for you to select.
